Battle of
Andernach took place in the year 939 during th e battle of Lorraine between King Otto I of Germany (we do not sp eak of him as a Roman emperor, because he only took the title in 962 years) and the feudal lords karolińskimi. The battle with th e king stood Gilbert Duke of Lorraine. The battle ended in defeat for Gilbert, and he drowned in the Rhine during an escape attempt. Lorraine after the battle was closely linked with Germany, and the lords recognized the sovereignty of the Emperor Otto. ....
